Much of my most meaningful work has come from working one-on-one with students and their families. Understanding each student, recognising their potential, and guiding them to make informed choices has been central to my success.
However, there is a natural limit to how many students one person can support directly. My association with SelectedU addresses this challenge. My role extends beyond individual consulting to shaping the strategic direction of our counselling and admissions work, developing frameworks, training and mentoring counsellors, reviewing complex student cases, and providing strategic guidance when needed.
I continue to work directly with students, especially when decisions require experience, context, or specialised evaluation. Equally important, I help the team develop the judgment needed to support students effectively.
The goal is not to replicate a single approach to counselling, but to ensure that what I have learned from thousands of students over nearly 25 years benefits more people than I could reach individually.
Over time, this approach enables the same depth of guidance to reach many more students, one individual at a time, through a thoughtfully trained team.
